Upcoming Events
We run several free community events every year, including taking part in Capital Growth Good to Grow Day in April, London Open Gardens Weekend in June, and Capital Growth Urban Harvest Week in September. In 2024 we celebrated our 15th birthday with a mini-festival and harvest feast in September. And a year later in September 2025 we launched our cookbook, The Cranbrook Community Cookbook.
All our events are free and open to everyone, unless stated otherwise in the event description.
Good to Grow Day
Saturday 25th April 11am-3pm
We'll be taking part in Capital Growth Good to Grow Week again this year. There'll be children's activities, gardening, and The Big City Bug Hunt, which is the biodiversity scheme that we hosted a pilot workshop for last year. Participants loved seeking out bugs and identifying them - come on down for round two!

PLUS optional walking tour* of other local food gardens 10am-12noon, starting from Spitalfields City Farm

A community-led garden tour across Tower Hamlets, celebrating local harvests, global food cultures, and shared stories—culminating in a harvest celebration and the launch of The Cranbrook Community Cookbook.
If you contributed to our crowdfunder to raise funds for printing costs, today's the day that you can come and collect your copy! We can't wait to share it with you!
If you haven't pre-ordered, never fear, our crowdfunders raised enough to print extra copies that will be available on a pay-what-you-can basis to local residents.

Visible Mending Get-together
Sunday 12th July, 11am-1pm, in the garden
Fancy giving new life to old clothes? Join us for a relaxed visible mending session — think embroidery, darning, patches and creative repairs!
Bring along something that needs a bit of love (a hole, a worn knee, a stain you want to cover) or an item you'd like to personalise. We'll have needles, threads and fabric scraps on hand, plus some embroidery books for inspiration and stitch guides.
This is a come-and-learn, share-and-swap kind of session — no experience needed! If you have your own sewing kit, scraps, or buttons you're happy to share or swap, bring them along too.
⏰ A quick heads up: mending is a slow craft, so don't expect to finish in one go! Come ready to make a start — you can always take your piece home to continue. Think of it as the beginning of an ongoing project rather than a one-off fix.
